Ivan Connors

Black and Green Award (Winter)

In its inaugural year of 2011, this award was created to recognise the Most Valuable Player (MVP) across all teams competing in the senior winter baseball competition at St Patrick's Baseball Club. The award recipient remains secret until revealed at the club’s annual senior baseball presentation night.

Points are earned during each game of the regular season and tallied to determine the overall winner. The award is considered a prestigious accolade among St Pat’s players and is worthy of the honour it carries.

In 2017, the title of the award was revised from the “Black and Green Award” to the “Ivan Connors Black and Green Award” in recognition of Ivan Connors’ contribution and legacy within the club.

During the 2025/2026 season, the Executive Committee determined that the award would be split across the club’s winter and summer competitions. The Ivan Connors Black and Green Award will remain the premier award for the senior winter competition, while the newly introduced Ivan Connors Green and Black Award will recognise the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the senior summer competition.
